At the Whitney, Grace Rosario Perkins turns paint and text into a way of tracking memory. Circles, Spokes, Zigzags, Rivers takes its cues from the marks of the title, geometry and landscape becoming a shorthand for family and place. Fragments of words and image collide and reassemble, so each work feels like a story being pieced back together in real time.
